style="color: blue;"&gt;Fases do ciclo celular&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: x-small;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: blue;"&gt;Interfase - &lt;span style="color: black;"&gt;ocorre a duplicação do material genético. Se essa quantidade de gelo derretesse, daria um volume de aproximadamente 32 milhões de quilômetros cúbicos de água, uma vez que a água é um pouco mais densa que o gelo.&lt;br /&gt;Nas últimas gerações, temos agido com pouca sabedoria, de modo que nos encontramos hoje diante de uma crise planetária, sem paralelo na história humana.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Naturalmente, se o gelo derretesse, quase toda essa água escoaria em direção ao oceano. O oceano tem uma superfície total de 360 milhões de quilômetros quadrados. Se essa superfície permanecesse constante e os 32 milhões de km³ de gelo derretido se distribuíssem uniformemente sobre a superfície do oceano, formaria uma camada de 90 m de espessura.&lt;br /&gt;Entretanto, essa superfície não permaneceria constante, pois se o nível do oceano se elevasse, em torno de 360 milhões de km² de regiões costeiras seriam invadidas pelas água. Além disso, sob o peso da água adicional, o leito oceânico afundaria um pouco.&lt;br /&gt;Ainda assim, o nível dos oceanos se elevaria uns 60 m, o bastante para cobrir um edifício de vinte andares e inundar a maioria das regiões mais densamente povoadas da Terra.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; As ameaças de grandes catástrofes provocadas pela irresponsabilidade humana são iminentes. A natureza é sábia e já tivemos, na história geológica da Terra, auges de eras glaciais com geleiras de cerca de um quilômetro de altura avançando por milhões de quilômetros quadrados de terra firme e o nível das águas oceânicas baixando tanto que as plataformas continentais ficam expostas como terra seca. Por outro lado, quando a quantidade de gelo continental reduz-se praticamente a zero, como ocorreu por dezenas de milhões de anos seguidos, o nível das águas oceânicas é alto e a área continental reduzida.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font-family: Times,&amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,serif; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: x-small;"&gt;Nenhuma das duas situações é necessariamente catastrófica. No auge de uma era glacial, milhões de quilômetros quadrados de&lt;br /&gt;terra firme são cobertos de gelo e se tornam inabitáveis para a vida terrestre. Por outro lado, milhões de quilômetros quadrados de plataformas continentais ficam expostas e habitáveis. E, ao contrário, quando o gelo recua, milhões de km² de terra firme ficam cobertos de água, impossibilitando a existência de vida terrestre. Mas, sem gelo, e com menores extensões de terra firme, o clima é mais uniforme e há menos desertos, de maneira que uma porcentagem maior da superfície de terra restante torna-se habitável. A poeira tende a bloquear a radiação solar e esfriar a Terra, ao passo que o dióxido de carbono tende a absorver calor e tornar a Terra mais quente.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font-family: Times,&amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,serif; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: x-small;"&gt;Muita poeira no ar esfria a Terra. &lt;br /&gt;Dióxido de carbono lançado no ar aquece a Terra. Atualmente o gás carbônico (CO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;) está predominando sobre a poeira. No futuro, se um dos efeitos predominar sobre o outro, a temperatura da Terra diminuiria ou aumentaria de maneira relativamente rápida, podendo levar à formação de glaciações continentais ou à fusão das calotas polares, no curso de mais ou menos cem anos.
